ABSTRACT
In an increasingly globalized, digitalized, post-pandemic era that we live in India, the relevance of the internet has grown beyond boundaries. While on one hand, this gives rise to a plethora of benefits, the same comes at a huge cost at a point where the associated issues are not dealt with effectively. One such issue is the question of jurisdiction. This is particularly important in light of the fact that territorial boundaries have no scope in so far as the internet is concerned, by virtue of it being transnational in nature. As a result of this, there are several pressing issues about the steps necessary to fill this lacuna and deal with cyber crimes and other legal aspects. The central theme of this essay revolves around the existing issues associated with internet and jurisdiction as a result of fragmented frameworks. The paper further discusses case studies of how the issue has been dealt in status quo, addresses the dire need for a uniformed framework and the ways to achieve the same.
