Indian Federal Structure: A Balanced Model Of Unitary And Federal

ABSTRACT

India is said to be federal in its form, but unitary in its spirit and substance. Therefore, it has been entitled a quasi-federal system, which is a combination of unitary or federal system. This kind of system is unique to India, and an adapted and modified form of government has been established to suit the needs and environment of the country. This paper discusses the federal structure adopted in India. Further, it will focus on the different unitary and federal features of the Indian structure and provide an analysis on those features.
