India’s Gaming Revolution: Growth, Trends And Legalities

ABSTRACT


E-gaming is a rapidly booming industry with potential economic growth, understanding the legal framework is essential for navigating the legal complexities and protection of the rights of users and consumers. With time and development, the segregation of Games from gambling has assessed online games in establishing a recognized position in the law. The key elements that govern the legality of online games are skills, chance and stakes. Legal recognition of the industry is needed for a well-regulated, responsible, and economically viable industry. The paper aims to comprehensively analyze the legal challenges confronting the online gaming industry within the geographical confines of India. The paper shall have an in-depth analysis of the primary legal regulations governing the industry and categorization and examination of legal issues pertaining to skill-based games and games of chance.
