Inclusive Education In India For Disabled Children: Concept, Law And Order & What Is A Call For NEP

Harshika Kapoor, ILS Pune

ABSTRACT

Millions of children around the world are absent from school, often because they are perceived as being too different. The right to education has been recognized as one of the most important aspects of a child's development into a fully functioning member of society. Gender, race, social class, ethnicity, country, religion, or disability can all be used to justify exclusion. This Right needs to be added up in the Constitution. Basically, there is child, family, society and then the community. Adapted from Urie Bronfenbrenner’s ecological framework for human development (1979), this basically shows how everyone is connected this is basically a holistic approach to it, that how the child is being affected by the community and his rights are being taken away. After looking towards this model why cannot we put child at the centre, if a child’s home environment is safe and secure, he can pursue the education further. Till date there is no such law mentioned in Right to education for disability people, But to my recommendations individuals, Ngo’s and Government should come forward, the interview, survey should be conducted so as to mentioning the rights to disable kids.
