INTRODUCTION
The word “Preamble” is taken from the Latin word “preambulus” which means ‘to go before’ Preamble is an introductory statement of any legislative and any act that tell about its purpose; philosophy, uses, ideas and aspirations, principle and objectives. Many other philosophers said about the preamble that it is like a blueprint of the constitution.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The Preamble was drafted by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru through his objective resolution that was adopted by the constituent assembly on 22 January 1947. The ideals of the preamble are taken from the objective resolution that was presented on 13th December 1946 accepted on 22 January 1947 and adopted by the constituent assembly on 26 November1949 coming into force on 26 January 1950.
Dr BR Ambedkar said about the preamble: “It was indeed, a way of life which recognizes liberty, equality, and fraternity asthe principle of life and which cannot be divorced from each other: Liberty cannot be divorced from equality; Equality cannot be divorced from liberty nor can liberty and equality be divorced from fraternity without equality. Liberty would produce the supremacy of the few over the mercy. Equality without liberty would kill individual initiative without fraternity, liberty, equality could not become a natural course of things.”
