Gaurav Kumar, LL.M., Chanakya National Law University, Patna

ABSTRACT

Modern forensic science has made a significant impact on criminal jurisprudence in India. It has brought about a significant change in the investigation and prosecution of crimes, and has played a crucial role in the administration of justice. The use of scientific methods has enhanced the accuracy and reliability of criminal investigations, making it easier to establish guilt or innocence.

This paper examines the impact of modern forensic science on criminal jurisprudence in India. It highlights the significance of forensic evidence in the criminal justice system, and the various techniques used to collect and analyze such evidence. The paper also discusses the legal framework governing the admissibility of forensic evidence in Indian courts.

The use of modern forensic science has helped to solve many high-profile cases, and has led to the conviction of many criminals who might have otherwise gone unpunished. It has also helped to exonerate the innocent, by providing a scientific basis for their defense. However, the paper also examines the challenges facing the use of modern forensic science in criminal investigations, including the need for adequate training and resources for forensic experts, and the potential for misuse and manipulation of forensic evidence.

In conclusion, modern forensic science has had a significant impact on criminal jurisprudence in India, enhancing the accuracy and reliability of criminal investigations and aiding in the administration of justice. However, the use of forensic evidence must be carefully regulated to ensure that it is used ethically and accurately, and that the rights of the accused are protected.
