ABSTRACT

The writ of habeas corpus, a cornerstone of personal liberty protection, assumes particular significance in the realm of Indian administrative law. This research paper scrutinizes the historical evolution, practical application, and jurisprudential effectiveness of habeas corpus writs in safeguarding personal liberty within the framework of Indian administrative law. Through a meticulous analysis of landmark cases and legislative developments, this paper seeks to critically assess the role of habeas corpus in upholding individual freedom from arbitrary administrative actions, thus contributing to the broader notions of justice, rule of law, and accountability.
