I Hate My Slaves And They Hate Me Too: A Philosophical And Economic Analysis Of Federalism In India Through Game Theory And Hegel’s Master-Slave Dialectic

Aditya Chatterjee, Tamil Nadu National Law University

ABSTRACT

The understanding of federalism in India has been approached in various ways. However it is rare to find a Hegelian understanding of the Indian federalist structure while using economics through game theory modeling to substantiate such a philosophical comprehension. This nascence of Indian constitutional law, German idealist philosophy and economics is what this paper attempts to arrive at. This will involve an analysis of Indian federalism through Hegelian dialectic, applying that to an area such as inter-state disputes (where there is conflict between Centre and States), and creating an economic model to understand it thoroughly.
