ABSTRACT
It is quite often said that an idle mind is a devil’s workshop. Curious nature of human beings has led to numerous discoveries. Human cloning is one of them. A concept which had been only a topic of science fiction for time immemorial, turned into reality in the year 1997 with the arrival of Dolly, a cloned sheep. This discovery has led to unending and controversial debates worldwide on various issues revolving around legal, ethical and social aspects of cloning. Cloning of human beings is an up and coming concept. The main question which is being widely discussed if of bioethics. Various dignitaries in the field of medical sciences hold diverse and strong opinions regarding the morality of cloning humans. This paper focuses on different issues related to human cloning as these issues are very subjective in nature and need to studied with a wide and open mind. There is no proper consent over the issue of morality of human cloning as ethical and religious values differ from person to person and community to community. After analysing various issues that are faced with the concept of cloning, the researcher will be analysing the development of law in this regard and how various unions/ countries are trying to protect the interests of its citizens.
