How The Role Of International Law Has Changed In A ‘Covid Driven Globalized World’

ABSTRACT


To start it off, the research begins with explaining the meaning of International law and globalization and goes on to discuss the ramification of pandemic on both of them. Globalization has contributed largely towards the spread of the ongoing deadly pandemic and trade and travel remains to be the most significant determinants of outspread of the disease. The paper contemplates on the role of international law prior to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and what has been changed and evolved after the pandemic hit the globe. From the ‘peace guardian’ to ‘global health savior’, branches of international law had to rush towards taking care of global health via global governance. This piece also discusses at length about what kind of measures the respective branches of international law adopted, the plan of action to contain its spread, how it tackled the chaos emerging out of the same pandemic. Lastly, it also reflects on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on globalization and its unprecedented challenges in brief.
