Hostile Takeovers In India

Yukta Goel, B.B.A. LL.B., Symbiosis Law School, Noida

ABSTRACT

Hostile takeovers in India have been a subject of debate for many years due to their complexities and challenges. Despite the legal framework being in place, India has seen relatively few hostile takeovers. The topic has gained attention due to a few high-profile cases in recent years, which have been driven by various factors. The Indian legal system has attempted to address the challenges associated with hostile takeovers through regulatory frameworks and guidelines. However, the issue remains contentious, and the success of the legal framework in facilitating more hostile takeovers in the future is yet to be seen.
