Government’s Expenditure On New Parliament And Memorials – An Analysis

ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the Government’s expenditure on the construction of the New Parliament Building and Other Memorials erected by it in the past years. This study primarily focuses on the New Parliament building. The construction is part of the Central Vista Redevelopment plan which costed the government a whopping Rs.13,450/- Crores. In this we will discuss the plan in an elaborate manner discussing the various other constructions involved with it which include the demolition of a few iconic buildings. We will also discuss the views of various eminent authors and scholars on this plan and the reasons for construction. The primary aspect of this study is to know the urgency of this construction at this point in time when the world is facing covid crisis and focusing whether these buildings are for people or for sake of politics.
