INTRODUCTION
The directive principles of state policy in part 4 of the Indian constitution provides a basis for the right to health. In September 2019, a high-level group on the health sector constituted under the 15th finance commission had recommended that the right to health shall be declared as a fundamental right. The beginning of the right to health dates back to 1946, when the primary global association world health organization (WHO) appeared to figure health terms as human rights. Also, even before WHO, there were few nations that have been in the period of conceding health as a central right.
Health is one of the important factors in a person’s overall development. Health is rightly regarded as wealth. in the absence of good health, a person is not able to enjoy the comforts and achievements of life. Our constitution also requires the state to ensure the state and nutritional well being of all people. Before independence, the health care sector was in dismal condition as the morality rate owing to diseases was high. But since independence, the main emphasis has been on the health care sector. Still, there are several issues which is the main reason that the health status of the Indian population is unsatisfactory. There is a great difference between public health in British India and democratic India.
