Foundations Of Environmental Law In India: An Analysis Of Key Principles And Judicial Interpretations

Vaibhav Mittal, Manav Rachna University

ABSTRACT

The core principles driving the environmental law in India hereby open the critical legal doctrines that hold people and industries liable to environmental degradation. The importance of balance between economic development and the protection of the environment in India reflects how this country's legal framework works hand in hand in favour of promoting sustainability, fairness, and justice. Accordingly, a paper has been published for more detailed analysis with an eye on views informing policy makers, the practicing bar, and the general public on the evolving role of the judiciary and regulatory bodies in giving shape to environmental governance. This therefore calls for deep understanding on mechanisms that may spur accountability, as well as long-term sustainability of the environment, seeking a very ethical approach from all relevant stakeholders since ecological challenges continue piling up.
