ABSTRACT
Food is one of the most important components of sustenance of every living being. Adulteration is said to be act which is done to reduce the quality of the goods and diminish their nature. Food is the most targeted substance of practising adulteration in today’s market. Food adulteration is the act which is done by mixing various other products to the original product in order to reduce the quality and nutrition while making higher profits. In India, food adulteration is a growing issue. In order to curb that and put a control to it various laws have been enacted. This article deals with the various ways in which food adulteration is practiced, reasons, consequences, laws prevailing, suggestions, etc.
