ABSTRACT
The purpose of copyright is not limited to safeguarding the author's interests. It's a rather extreme position to take, but it's our moral duty to ensure everyone's rights are respected. The goal of copyright is to promote innovative ideas and technical development for the benefit of society as a whole. Fair use provides a strong defence of copyright by harmonising the interests of authors and consumers. Getting permission to use copyrighted works for ordinary activities like delivering the news or teaching a class would become unacceptably time-consuming and costly if copyright protections like Fair Use did not exist. Since copyright laws ensure that creators of intellectual property get compensated for their work, they are crucial to the success of the creative community. However, within this legal framework, the necessity of fostering innovation, creativity, and the free exchange of ideas is recognised. The concept of fair use is fundamental to copyright law since it permits limited use of copyrighted content without the owner's consent. This paves the way for IP protection that doesn't hinder innovation or the sharing of information.
