Aliza Zeeshan, Amity University, Noida

ABSTRACT

Juvenile delinquency poses a significant societal concern, demanding a nuanced understanding of its multifaceted nature. This paper delves into the complex factors driving youth involvement in criminal behaviour, aiming to inform targeted interventions. Examining societal, familial, psychological, educational, and economic factors, it elucidates the intricate web contributing to juvenile delinquency. Unplanned urbanization, economic disparities, and inadequate education infrastructure emerge as critical contributors, alongside peer influence and family dynamics. Utilizing a holistic approach, the paper advocates for proactive prevention strategies, emphasizing early identification, supportive interventions, and holistic development. By addressing the underlying causes and embracing a welfare- oriented paradigm, society can foster positive outcomes for at-risk youth, mitigating the enduring impact of juvenile delinquency.
