ABSTRACT

Our economics, our food security, our health, and sustainable development are all based on the environment. Our ecosystems offer us with a clean water supply, clean air, safe food, and, lastly, physical and mental health. Environmental crime is on the rise these days, threatening not only wildlife populations but also ecosystems as a whole, sustainable livelihoods, and government revenue sources. Because of their negative impacts on the ecosystem and human society, environmental crimes—also known as Crimes against the environment—are a serious problem. The purpose of this essay is to examine the Indian Constitution's provisions and other laws pertaining to environmental violations. This study provides important insights into the challenges of addressing environmental violations in India.
