Enforcement Of Anti-Trust Laws And Policies At International Level: The Alarming Need Of International Co-Operation

ABSTRACT

In the present era the increasing rate of globalization is restructuring the conducts of international trade and businesses where the role of international co- operation for the enforcement of competitive laws through conduct of different agencies becomes necessary. The convergence of procedural laws would be politically feasible; treaties and agreements would be more practicable; soft law effects would be useful in forming hard law norms. There is a prerequisite of common rules and regulations at international level for conducting the cross border business transactions softly, thus the role of agencies responsible for implementation of such rules and regulations through its activities becomes vital. The paper seeks to inspect and interpret the role of international co- operation in effective enforcement of competition laws at international level.
