Domestic Violence In Rural India

ABSTRACT


In this paper, the discussion is made regarding domestic violence in rural India. It has been observed that domestic violence cases in rural India are much more than compared in Urban India. This is because people in rural India are still living in an old mindset and they still think that men dominate society. In this paper, the discussion regarding the major causes of domestic violence in rural India is covered. The major reasons for domestic violence are alcohol, dowry, male child expectancy, and the poor mentality of society. In this paper, the discussion regarding the impact of domestic violence is also covered. Domestic violence can cause a major impact on the mental health of an individual and that is covered in this paper as well. There is also discussion made regarding how domestic violence can impact the development of the child who witnesses domestic violence taking place at their home. There are some recommendations provided to control the wrath of domestic violence in rural India.
