ABSTRACT

Denmark yet again proved its commitment towards providing a safe and progressive environment to its citizens with topping both, the Women, Peace and Security Index 2023 and WJP-Rule of Law Index 2023. The nation is known for granting equal rights to women irrespective of the personal or professional arena. On the other hand, India's performance on these indicators has been below average which indicates concerns and persisting challenges in the country. Although India’s performance has improved over the years, it still struggles to carefully address the needs of marginalized people.

In order to shed light on differences in underprivileged people' access to justice, this research paper aims at comparing Denmark and India's free legal aid eligibility criteria with special emphasis on women. The research paper intends to advance knowledge of how legal assistance systems affect general societal advancement by contrasting these two. The main objective of this research paper is to examine and explore the factors which impact the grant of such legal aim in these two different countries which will further help in understanding society awareness and development in such scenarios
