ABSTRACT

This is an age of technology and online businesses. Today more and more pre-existing as well as new businesses are shifting their activities it has become quite crucial to have knowledge as to how a business can be protected against Cyber identity theft and that’s what this paper aims to accomplish. The paper on “Detailed Analysis on the Essentiality of Protection of Domain Name as Trademark” talks about the overall concept of Domain Names as well as trademarks, the history of trademark as well as gazes upon the categorization of trademarks as a whole. When it comes to trademarks, without the necessary knowledge of types of registrable Trademarks, it becomes extremely difficult to obtain proper protection for your marks and this paper talks about the same. The paper also focuses on the concept of Domain Name’s and such identifiable names being protected under the trademark and necessary legal framework that helps achieve the motive. The paper ends with concluding the research by discussing the importance of understanding categorization of trademarks as well as discussing the issue of resolution of disputes which may arise in course of registration and protection of Domain Names under and as trademarks on national and international level.
