Cybersquatting: A Cyberspace Parasite

ABSTRACT

Cyber-squatting is a broad practice in which businesses seek domain names that are easily associated with their recognized brands. Domain conflicts are common all throughout the world. From an Indian viewpoint, cybersquatting has been prevailing since the subcontinent's introduction to the internet. The courts in although India has handled with incidents involving cyber-squatting, there is currently no such ruling in place. India has made cyber-squatting illegal. India requires dramatic procedures to reframe the situation with introducing laws in order to take into consideration the online realities. One method is to strengthen the Laws governing domain disputes and brand protection to foster more trust among consumers. Foreign investment will go a long way toward ensuring more growth for India.
