Chelana Jain, Alliance School of Law, Alliance University, Bengaluru

ABSTRACT

Internet use continues to have an impact on a civilization's social, economic, social, and political spheres in both good and harmful ways. The majority of women who use the Internet are not aware of the risks present there. Human rights are being violated when violence against women occurs. It never stops pleading for its investments to have an impact on Indian history. She continues to live a weak life and be exploited despite the many feminists who have battled against women's abuse and for their empowerment in society throughout time. Women's rights have received equal respect as a consequence of digital innovation's profound disruption of the communication space, which has made the world a "Global Village." The standard of life for women changed as a result of the development of the World Wide Web, mobile phones, and tablets, among other technologies. Despite the enormous positive effects these inventions had on our lives, they also created a serious danger known as cyber crime. The majority of cybercrimes are conducted against vulnerable women. It is incredibly challenging to identify criminals due to a lack of proof and the fear of being accused of anything negative. Women have been subjected to email deception, pornography, sexual harassment, and other forms of online assault. In this study, we looked into online violence against women in India, how they are victimised, and what might be done to stop it.
