ABSTRACT


India is considered to be the flag bearer of fourth industrial revolution i.e. technological revolution. It is quite evident that due to the growth of technology in the country, there has been a rise in cyber offences. The offenders consider women and children as a soft target. Cyber prayers always found that women and children are more vulnerable to this crime. This fact can be proved by the NCRB report which shows there is a tremendous rise in the cyber crimes against children. This article will deal with detail explanation of types of cyber crimes that occurs against the above mentioned strata


This paper will also put emphasis on the laws which are governing India with respect to cyber crime against women and children. As India is a developing country in terms of economy as well as legal system, we need to look global perspective about the same. Hence, this paper will compare the laws governing in United States of America and United Kingdom. There will also be emphasis on what actually is the current status of the applied laws in India and its trends in cyber crimes.


And in the last leg of this article, there will be a critical analysis of current law and loopholes in the current cyber legal system. The paper will also discuss possible solutions or suggestions so that the current system can improve. Judiciary plays an important role in shaping and interpreting the laws, so this article aims to study judicial approach and recent development in the same subject matter. At last the article will analyze how lockdown during COVID-19 impacted cyber crimes against women and children.
