ABSTRACT
This paper delves into the intricate realm of cross-border justice, specifically focusing on the principles of jurisdiction in international law and their practical application in the real world, including a comparative analysis of extraterritorial jurisdiction laws. The study explores how nations navigate the complex landscape of asserting legal authority beyond their borders, shedding light on the mechanisms employed to facilitate the transfer of individuals involved in transnational crimes through the examination of extradition treaties and bilateral relations.
Case studies play a central role in this research, predominantly used to dissect the real-world application of these principles, spanning diverse areas such as transnational corporate crime and accountability, cybercrime, terrorism, environmental crimes, and human rights violations. Each case provides valuable insights into the challenges and complexities inherent in pursuing justice across borders. In our increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, understanding the nuances of extraterritorial jurisdiction and extradition is pivotal for addressing transnational issues and upholding the principles of justice and accountability. This paper aims to contribute to this understanding by delving into the practical dimensions of these legal principles through the lens of compelling real-world case studies.
