Critical Analysis Of The Domestic Violence Law

ABSTRACT

In a survey it was seen that 70 percent of women in India are victim or have been a victim of domestic violence. This paper explains that what is the meaning of domestic violence. Domestic Violence means violence suffered by a person by their biological relative. Violence suffered by women from the male members or relatives of family. The intention behind the violence can be to maintain the power of a person over another person.

This paper talks about the various types of domestic violence. This paper also talks about the misuse of the domestic violence law. The various causes of domestic violence is also explained in detail. This paper also talks about the dowry system which is the major reason behind domestic violence.It is necessary to mention about dowry system because nowadays there has been a huge risein domestic violence cases which is caused just because of the illegal demand of dowry .It is seen most of the domestic violence cases are because of the lawful demand of dowry.
