Critical Analysis Of Fossil Fuel Subsidies: Opening A Pandora's Box And Moving Towards A New WTO Regime

ABSTRACT

This article explores the critical analysis of why fossil fuel subsidies have evaded challenges and simultaneously proposes feasible strategies for regulating them in line with environmental standards. Factors discussed include the political and legal factors that have allowed fossil fuel subsidies to continue despite their detrimental effects on the environment. Additionally, it offers some feasible strategies for regulating fossil fuel subsidies to achieve sustainable development goals by 2030.
