ABSTRACT


The use of death penalty within criminal jurisprudence evokes intense ethical debates and moral dilemmas. This paper explores the complexities surrounding capital punishment, analyzing ethical dilemmas such as irreversibility, disproportionate impact, and humanitarian considerations. Additionally, it delves into moral justifications including deterrence theory, retributive justice, and considerations of victims' rights. Through an examination of legal principles, societal values, and empirical evidence, this research provides a comprehensive understanding of the ethical nuances surrounding death penalty.
