ABSTRACT
The crimes done against and on elderly can cost a lot to their social and mental ability, not just only physically. The health care for elderly must be very noble, since they need delicate and dedicated care. And there are many sections in Indian Penal Code(IPC) and Criminal Procedure Code(CrPC) to provide punishments and provisions for such crimes committed in the health sector. The objective of this study was to understand and analyse what crimes are done, who does it and how can it be reduced with help of the responses and analysed data. Here it is an empirical research which was conducted with a convenient sampling method, where the questionnaire is sent through the interweb. There were 201 respondents and those results were analysed with pie chart, percentage and cross tabulated 3D bar graphs with the aid of SPSS software. Most of the respondents were between the age of 18 to 30, and many were male, majority were undergraduates and majority did other occupations. Through the responses and analysed data, it was conclusive that these crimes are mainly related to unnecessary treatment and it was done by the politicians mainly but which was indirect. And also it is suggested by the respondents that upping the surveillance would be effective to reduce such crimes such crimes against the elderly in the health sector.
