ABSTRACT


Crimes against women has been and still is a serious problem within society since the onset of time. Crimes against women means those acts of social wrongs inflicted on women in various forms such as domestic violence- economic, psychological, emotional, physical; also crimes of femicide, honor killing, sexual violence and harassment, rape, corrective rape, rape culture, human trafficking, female genital mutilation, child marriage, cyber- crimes or cyber bullying, non-consensual sexting and doxing. These stated crimes are those which are known and are in social view as crimes done against women, there might be many more which are yet not know to society. But a question that arises over here is that, that what factors drives these people who inflict wrong on women as such. So, some known reasons for their actions are lack of family and social control, use of intoxicating drinks, religion, education, defective marriage and cinema.
