ABSTRACT

The rapid advancement in technology has transformed the way creative works are produced, distributed, and consumed. With digitalization, it has become easier for individuals to reproduce and distribute works without proper authorization from the copyright owners. This paper aims to analyse the implications of digitalization on copyright law, and how this legal regime has adapted to the digital age. The paper explores the concept of copyright, its historical development, and the challenges posed by digitalization. The study employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including a literature review, case analysis, and statistical analysis. The findings indicate that digitalization has transformed copyright law, and the current legal framework is inadequate to address the challenges posed by digitalization. The paper concludes by proposing some recommendations for the improvement of the legal regime. The rapid growth of digital technologies has brought unprecedented changes to the world in which we live. These changes have fundamentally altered the way we communicate, create, and distribute knowledge and culture. In particular, the emergence of digital platforms and networks has enabled the easy and rapid sharing of information, leading to significant disruptions.
