Concerns Surrounding The Functioning Of Indian Administration Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic And The Road Ahead

ABSTRACT

The entire globe is in the midst of the greatest health emergency since the last one and half years due to the advent and arrival of Covid-19 pandemic. This is the biggest world emergency and calamity that has pushed the entire globe to the situation of standstill and India has been no exception. As a result, the Indian government and the public establishments coming under its supervision generated a flow of administrative measures. For certain after the start of the pandemic, Parliament brought a halt on its functioning. When it recommenced work, it acted mainly as a platform for debate and finding information through questions. However, accessible parliamentary procedures to supervise the legality of administrative acts were not used efficiently. In this paper, the focus would be to examine how administrative law has played a monitoring role in handling the grave situation. Secondly, the ineffectiveness associated with parliamentary supervision for questioning the legality of administrative actions and finally, the judicial review of administrative acts during the health crisis.
