ABSTRACT
Human trafficking, especially involving minors, has become a serious global issue in recent times, with India being no exception. It transcends cultures, countries, and eras and is the most serious type of organised crime in the world. The primary objective of this current study is to learn moreabout the problem of child trafficking, its scope, and how to effectively enforce India’s current legalframework to prevent it. The primary cause of child trafficking, its scope, geography, historical context, the legal frameworks of both national and international organizations, the laws currently in place, programmes, and Indian customs have all been examined to determine the benefits and downsides of child trafficking in India. Furthermore this essay aims to investigate Bachpan Bachao Andolan’s contribution to the defence of children’s human rights in India. This study is based on secondary sources, primarily official reports from the National Commission for Protection of Children’s Rights, the National Human Rights Commission, and Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA). Kailash Satya Rathi founded BBA, a non- governmental organisation (NGO), in 1980. Its primary goal was to establish a child-friendly society in which all kids are protected fromexploitation and have access to high-quality of free education. Its primary goals are to demand that all children have the right to an education and to put an end to child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking. This paper also deals with the current statistics and gives practical suggestions to improve the condition in India.
