Causes And Prevention Of Juvenile Delinquency In India

Aman Priya, Uttaranchal University

ABSTRACT

In India, juvenile delinquency is a significant issue that causes many young people to have disastrous lives. Juvenile criminality and associated issues adversely affect youth, their families, and society. The issue impacts the crime’s victims and the young offender's family, future, and society. The victims are those who are most immediately impacted by juvenile misbehaviour. Young offenders' socioeconomic and psychological issues, which impact their families and society, are the most severe consequences. Sometimes young people participating in robberies, rapes, and assaults are significant due to psychological issues. Juveniles who engage in these illicit acts develop a habit of using alcohol or other substances. This essay's primary goal is to investigate the prevalence of adolescent delinquency from a psychological standpoint. Juvenile who commits significant offences challenges their future to protest what they see as abuses done to them. They experience psychological sadness, which motivates them to commit additional crimes. In this situation, research on the prevalence of juvenile delinquency is crucial to understanding its psychological roots and eradicating it from society.
