The said case pertains to the time of 1985, it is a landmark judgement of Supreme Court with respect to the Muslim women Maintenance. This judgement is known as the historical judgement because after this judgement a great assertion was done by the Muslim people. A rally was provoked by the Muslim Community. People started blaming government that they should not interfere in the religion beliefs. But the Section 125 of the CrPC is applied and applicable to all the religions. This is an initiative case taken by a 62 year old muslim lady to seek for the maintenance who was not stable financially to maintain her with her 5 children who were thrown out of house when her husband performs a second marriage with a younger girl. This case has changed the verdicts and provisions of law and a new act came into force for the protection of the women.
