2. INTRODUCTION;

The state neglected the rights of the person with disabilities by its inability to provide such rights to them for a very long period. These circumstances were changed by welfare legislation and judicial activism. In numerous judgments, the judiciary ruled the rights of persons with disabilities are claimable by them as a matter of the right and it should not be restricted by the state based on its incapacity to provide required facilities to them for their effective utilization of their rights. The present case also has such significance where the Hon’ble Supreme Court dealt with the right of reasonable accommodation of persons with disabilities in their public life.
