Capital punishment is one of the highest forms of punishment discharged for committing the most heinous offences. Punishment by death has always been implemented throughout the history of civilisations. This research paper aims to dive deeper into the history of capital punishment, moves forward by analysing the various laws existing in different countries particularly emphasising on Indian laws, and finally explores the perspectives of both the advocates and opposers of capital punishment in detail.
