Rishika Malviya, New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune

ABSTRACT

The field of law has expanded beyond its traditional boundaries into a highly charged, rapidly changing world in which law interacts with numerous other disciplines such as sociology, economics, political science, technology, and environmental studies etc. This article situates these intersections to show how an interdisciplinary approach can expand the range of legal practice, education, and research. This paper analyses the link between law and a collection of fields, and reveals how legal systems can build—or be built by—social norms, economic policies, the political landscape, technological developments, and environmental issues. The article shows through case studies and real-life examples how interdisciplinary knowledge is beneficial for legal professionals, as well as scholars. This multilevel approach to analysis and problem solving helps to give practitioners a broader view of solving the challenges confronting the legal profession today. Ultimately, this article urges for a greater understanding of the law as dynamic and connected discipline, necessary to tackle the complexities of today’s world.
