ABSTRACT
The fourth pillar of democracy is considered the media. It makes us aware of our surroundings and provides information on a variety of matters. The Indian news industry is rapidly growing. The media's purpose is to provide people with accurate information and a range of perspectives. An accountable media may move a country ahead by laying a solid platform for its development, but unscrupulous media can undermine society. Today's media sources have become profit-driven, obstructing their capacity to give honest and balanced information to the public. There are currently no statutory regulations for broadcasters that'd enable us to wield some control over them and hold them accountable in the event of falsified or biased news or disinformation, however there are certain self-regulatory organizations include the News Broadcasters Association (NBA), the Broadcast Editors Association, and the News Broadcasters Federation.
The study includes an in-depth study on the duties of NBA and the changes that might be made to enhance their operation.
