Article On Necessity And Desirability Of Uniform Civil Code In India

ABSTRACT


Uniform Civil Code, generally referred to as common set of rules and regulations under civil matters applicable to all citizens regardless of their religion or cultural identity. This article aims to explore Uniform Civil Code through a positive perspective and a way to reform shortcomings present under several personal laws. The Uniform Civil Code is a framework formulated to ensure equality and fairness under civil matters and bringing diversity under the same roof judicial rulings. The article dives into various arguments against and for the implementation of Uniform Civil Code, the purpose behind this article is to clarify possible outcomes of such codification and breaking down myths surrounding the uniformity of civil matters. Needless to say, uniformity of cultural laws would bring better judicial outcomes and equal treatment to the deprived communities as seen under Various case laws that align us with the principles of UCC. Furthermore, the most important question of all, Is UCC just a Hindu- Muslim debate? has been discussed through various arguments.
