Saumya Pratibha Tirkey, Faculty of Law, NUSRL Ranchi

ABSTRACT

Innovative markets are ever-evolving, with new and inventive products constantly making an appearance. To stay competitive, businesses need to be innovative. The application of innovation is viewed as a weapon to drive rivals out of the market in the most recent antitrust authorities' decision- making process. Globally, technology and internet resources have brought about a revolutionary shift in the sales and marketing industry. The digital economy, in which the market and its different entities envision an online presence, has been made possible by this paradigm shift. This paper aims to evaluate the evolving market's dimensions in the context of a rapidly evolving digital market where different rivals are fighting for a larger market share on internet platforms. Given the goal, it is critical to evaluate whether India's Competition Act of 2002, which was created to serve offline markets, can adequately handle issues pertaining to this recently emerging field where market is driven by the technology.
