ABSTRACT

“For my own part, I think that if one were looking for a single phrase to capture the stage to which philosophy has progressed, ‘the study of evidence’ would be a better choice than ‘the study of language.” - A.J. Ayer

A key component of the investigation is the evidence. As powerful as the evidence is, a case is. It's crucial, first and foremost. In a court of law, a case cannot be made without proof, and a proof cannot exist without evidence. Research-based and fact-based, as opposed to speculative or widely held beliefs, is the basis of evidence. The following research paper focuses on a detailed overview of the various types of evidence and their significance in investigations.

Keywords: Evidence, oral, documentary, investigation.
