ABSTRACT


This dissertation delves into an in-depth examination of privacy safeguards and regulatory compliance, focusing on the implications of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. In the contemporary digital era, where personal data is increasingly vulnerable, understanding and assessing the efficacy of legal frameworks becomes paramount. This study aims to contribute a nuanced perspective on the interplay between privacy safeguards and regulatory compliance within the context of this recently enacted legislation.


The research methodology involves a multi-faceted approach, incorporating legal analysis, case studies, and empirical data to comprehensively evaluate the impact of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. The analysis begins with an exploration of the Act’s key provisions, scrutinizing the intricacies of how it addresses various facets of data protection. Special attention is given to mechanisms designed to safeguard used privacy, such as consent requirements, data minimisation principles, and the right to be forgotten.
