It is the Spirit and not the form of Law that keeps Justice Alive - Earl Warren

ABSTRACT

In order to improve accessibility, efficiency, and transparency, the court system must embrace information and communication technology (ICT). However, there have been a number of obstacles to the shift from conventional paper-based procedures to digital platforms, such as a lack of technological skills among legal practitioners, stakeholder resistance, infrastructure constraints, and cybersecurity issues. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the obstacles to the efficient use of ICT in judicial systems, critically examine the state of ICT implementation in judicial systems, and provide tactical ways to advance digital transformation in the court. The study looks at how legal analytics, digital case management systems, virtual hearings, and e-courts can streamline the legal system. This study reveals critical success elements that can be modified for use in various jurisdictions by conducting an empirical investigation of judicial stakeholders. In order to guarantee equal access to technology innovations in the legal sector, the report also highlights the necessity of strong legislative assistance, improved cybersecurity measures, judicial officer capacity-building initiatives, and the closing of the digital gap. The results of this study indicate that although ICT may significantly boost court efficiency and decrease case backlogs, its successful integration requires a thorough and organized policy framework. In order to create a more effective and accessible justice delivery system, the study ends with policy recommendations that support sustainable ICT use, guarantee data security, and advance digital inclusion in legal proceedings.
