An Analysis Of The Delays In Criminal Trials

ABSTRACT

Delay in criminal trial has been the main problem for prolong cases under trial. The reason for big numbers of cases has been because various reasons like working resources, process, criminal system, etc. There are lot of previous research works which talks about number of pending cases in the country, but the issue has always persisted. Statistics released by the national crimes record bureau in 2007 has been considered in this research paper to reflect the issue of pendency of case in trial. The findings indicate that there is a need for change of system, issues revolving in the present procedure, separate court rooms to deal with specific disputes for speedier justice and speedier disposal of cases, issues, lack of technical resources, even when recommendations are made, there is no change being brought to the system for rectification.
