Ruchi Rajbhar & Aditya Kumar Tripathi, Amity University, Lucknow

ABSTRACT

The sea-saw Legal battle between two mega-corporations Amazon and Reliance on becoming uncrowned king of the Indian retail market is one of the most hotly debated subjects that everyone is talking about. Despite being one of the largest and most powerful companies in the world, Amazon was unable to prevent the Reliance group from gaining a monopoly in the Indian Retail Market. This legal dispute raised a lot of questions about the effectiveness of Merger & Acquisition transactions, the implementation of International arbitral awards, and the functioning of various regulatory bodies in India.
