ABSTRACT
This research delves into the dynamic intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Indian Evidence Act, and constitutional rights in the context of legal proceedings in India. It scrutinizes the admissibility and reliability of AI- generated evidence, such as forensic analysis and predictive algorithms, within Indian Courts, exploring their alignment with established principles of admissibility and relevancy. Furthermore, it examines the implications of AI in evidence collection, focusing on concerns related to privacy, self- incrimination, and protection against self-testimony guaranteed under Articles 20(3) and 21 of the Indian Constitution.
The study also recognizes the need for legislative reforms to accommodate the integration of AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) into the Indian legal framework. These reforms aim to establish specific guidelines and safeguards, ensuring the admissibility, reliability, and safeguarding of constitutional rights in an increasingly digitized legal landscape.
