AI As An Inventor? Navigating The Legal Challenges Of AI And Patent Law

Priya Elizabeth Sunil, BA LLB (Hons), NUALS

ABSTRACT

The emergence of AI in the current gen-ze era has had several implications for the youth and the working class, who have taken this as a boon to help carry out their daily tasks. This system has not only lent a helping hand in automating tasks that were once explicitly performed by humans but has also made significant strides in content creation where machine algorithms are used, ranging from content creation and music to generating automated articles. This has deranged people from using their creative hats and made them lethargic when performing tasks effectively. This paper aims to scrutinise such questions as whether AI can be made an inventor where it was once exclusively placed in the hands of humans.
