ABSTRACT

Abortion is a delicate and complicated topic that has been the focus of extensive discussion and consideration in nations all over the world. The many cultural, religious, and social attitudes on the subject are reflected in the vast differences in the legal and ethical frameworks surrounding abortion from one jurisdiction to the next. Abortion laws in India have changed throughout time in an effort to reconcile women's reproductive rights with the state's interest in protecting maternal health and controlling population growth. In order to offer a thorough examination of India's abortion laws, this research paper will look at its historical evolution, major clauses, legal framework, and sociological ramifications.
